Birding wiki is a free online encyclopedia resource focused on birding and bird-related topics.
How Birding Wiki differs from Wikipedia
Many things in birding are highly subjective, and the wiki reflects this. Birding Wiki will ignore or reject some of Wikipedia’s principles in order to be a more useful resource for birders.
One of the cores of Wikipedia is its source citing requirements: articles are required to be written from a Wikipedia:Neutral Point of View, and information that is not verifiable is excluded. Birding Wiki will allow many information sources that Wikipedia does not, such as personal experience (required for quality hotspot information), blog posts and mailing list discussions, and original research.
